40 Weeks of Prayer - Week 1

This week, pray for the privilege of being a mother.

We've all had different circumstances in our lives which led us to this journey of motherhood. Some of us may have had infertility, miscarriages, unplanned/unexpected pregnancies, pregnancy before marriage, etc. All of these things are part of our individual stories which led to motherhood.


My story involved 4 years of infertility and 1 miscarriage. I remember the sadness and deep ache in my heart each month when I realized I wasn't pregnant. Sometimes it's still hard for me to believe that I have Joseph and another baby on the way (with no need for infertility treatments!) Motherhood truly is a gift from God...it is a privilege! Many of our sisters at church may be experiencing the pain of infertility. Some will never know the joy of being pregnant and feeling the baby move. They may become mothers through adoption, or they may fulfill their "motherly" needs through neices, nephews, students, etc. As I reflect on the privilege of being a mother, I also pray for those women who desperately desire to become mothers!

Please join me this week in praising God for the children and pregnancies He has blessed us with, and also pray for those women in our church who are aching for a child at this time!
